Privacy policy

The short version: we collect what we need to plan your trip, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it any time. The longer, lawyer-friendly version follows below — last updated January 2026.

01

What we collect

Only what's needed to book and support your trip.

Contact details

Name, email and phone number when you send an enquiry or make a booking — that's how we reach you about the trip.

Trip details

Dates, group size, preferences and anything you tell us about dietary needs or mobility requirements.

Payment data

Payments run through a PCI-compliant processor — we never see or store full card numbers on our own systems.

Usage data

Anonymous analytics — which pages get read, where people drop off. Covered in the cookie policy.

02

How we use it

Your data works for your trip — nothing else.

  • Building, booking and adjusting your itinerary
  • Passing required details to suppliers — lodges, cruise operators, venues
  • On-trip support and emergency contact while you travel
  • Occasional follow-up emails — and only if you asked for them

We don't sell, rent or trade personal data. Ever. No advertiser networks, no data brokers, no exceptions.

03

Who sees it

Suppliers get the minimum needed to honour your booking.

To confirm a booking we pass the necessary details to the supplier delivering that part of the trip — a lodge gets your name and dates, a venue gets your guest-list names. Each supplier is bound by their own privacy obligations under the NZ Privacy Act 2020.

We may also share data where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our clients and staff. Beyond that, your information stays with us in Dunedin.

Third parties we use

Booking and payment processors, email delivery, and anonymous site analytics. Each is chosen for decent privacy practices — we don't work with data resellers.

04

Security & how long we keep it

Kept safe, kept briefly.

Security

Encrypted storage, access limited to the planners working on your trip, and regular password hygiene reviews.

Retention

Booking records are kept 7 years for NZ tax law. Enquiry emails that don't lead to a booking are deleted after 12 months.

05

Your rights

Under the NZ Privacy Act 2020, these are yours by default.

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Request a correction if something's wrong
  • Ask us to delete data we're not legally required to keep
  • Complain to the NZ Privacy Commissioner if you're not satisfied

To use any of these rights, email blissriva@gmail.com with "Privacy request" in the subject — we respond within 20 working days, usually much faster.
